A: The law in Florida makes it illegal to drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs (prescription or illegal) to the extent that your normal faculties are impaired. Even if you had no alcohol at all, you can still be convicted of DUI if you were taking drugs. You should never drive when you're taking prescription or over-the-counter medication that impairs your normal faculties (i.e., the ability to see, hear, walk, talk, make judgments, act in emergencies, etc.).
