Head-on Collision Kills 1 in DUI Crash

August 1, 2010 - Baker County, FL - Highway 121 and Mud Lake Road became the scene of a fatal 2-vehicle collision the night of July 31.

Reports from The Florida Times-Union stated that the 2 vehicles involved were traveling in opposite directions when a 2007 Chevy Tahoe, driven by Anthony Daniels, 53, crossed the center line. Daniels struck a 1998 Pontiac driven by 58-year-old Alex Trail.

Trail was wearing a seat belt at the time, but due to the head-on collision and rate of speed, he was severely injured and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Daniels was arrested on site and taken to the Baker County Detention Center. He has been charged with DUI manslaughter and driving left of center. He sustained minor injuries in the crash.
