Nassau County Click it or Ticket Also Brings Florida DUI Charges

July 16, 2010 - Nassau County, FL - The results of the latest Click it or Ticket campaign for Nassau County are in, and they include Florida DUI arrests.

During the two multi-day crackdowns, sheriff's deputies increased their efforts to spot drivers and passengers who were not wearing a seatbelt. The penalty for an unrestrained adult is $101, while a child not in a proper child safety restraint will mean a $151 fine for the driver. In addition, 3 points are assessed to the driver's license.

The first segment of the campaign, which ran from May 18-23, 2010 focused on rural roadways north of the busy Jacksonville area. This segment resulted in 97 seat belt citations and 1 child safety-seat violation, as well as 3 Florida DUI arrests.

The second segment recently finished from May 24 - June 6, 2010 and resulted in 83 more seat belt citations and 8 Florida DUI arrests.
