Party Photos on Facebook Lead to Couple’s Arrest

June 8, 2010 - Clay County, FL - A Fleming Island couple is regretting their use of Facebook after pictures of their son's graduation party landed them in jail.

A story reported by First Coast News says the Florida Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (ABT) has been investigating the case of Steven and Janelle Snyder after pictures of an open house party at their home showed underage teens drinking.

Open house parties are against the law, especially when underage guests and alcohol are involved. The party was held Saturday evening for the couple's son who had just graduated, and involved several underage graduates drinking alcoholic beverages and playing beer pong.

The party caused no incidents and would have remained unknown had Janelle Snyder not posted pictures of the event to her Facebook account the next morning. The ABT obtained an arrest warrant on Monday and made the arrest Tuesday with the Snyders bonding out Tuesday afternoon.

Charges against the couple include holding an open house party and supplying alcoholic beverages to underage persons.
