Woman in SUV Causes 3-Vehicle Crash Involving Officer

Aug. 6, 2010 - Jacksonville, FL - Officer Gary Ellis was in an unmarked police SUV responding to a bank robbery on the afternoon of July 30 when he became delayed by a multi-vehicle crash.

News4Jax.com reports that Officer Ellis was responding to a call at about 1 p.m. about a robbery in progress at Florida Riverside Bank on Hershel Street. As he was en route to the scene, a woman driving another SUV crossed into his path, causing Ellis' vehicle to crash into another adjacent SUV. The first driver was cited for causing the accident.

None of the drivers were injured, however Ellis was shaken up and delayed in responding to the robbery.
